Title: “Educational Environmental Teaching Tools ”

JOINT ACTIVITY REPORT

On Comenius

1. We collected materials of historical and cultural backgrounds of the schools in order to improve the knowledge about each other and to find the similarities and differences. (September 2004)
2. We organized and evaluated the survey on the topics we have chosen. (October 2004)
3. We organized a project meeting in Crete (November 2004) with coordinators and head teachers in order to:
a. Present materials and evaluate the survey done individually (highlighted the similarities, differences and the problematic areas)
b. Discuss the next steps and activities for next term
c. Work out the formula of the lesson plans and activities
d. Discuss the terminology used by all the teachers in order to be sure that everybody will use in the same way.
4. We informed our colleagues (teachers) about the meeting, given them the formula of lesson plans and activities in our own languages.
5. We collected and discussed materials (lesson plans and activities which were tried out by our colleagues with their pupils. (December\January 2005)
6. We translated the materials into English (February\March)
7. We organized a project meeting in Poland (April 2005) in order to:
a. Study each other’s collections
b. Choose the ones which can be used and adopted without borders in any country
c. Evaluate the year and discuss the final report
8. We translated the materials into own languages.

Apart from the tasks mentioned above each school realized its own activities. All activities succeeded and were presented in the school and local media.

How effective was the collaboration among the participating institutions?

English was the main communication language used in the project. However, the Greek, Hungarian and Italian also used some French. The collaboration among the participants of the project was effective and based on personal kind of friendship. The partners were using e-mails, SMS and phones to exchange materials and ideas about the project. In our project was also involved Italian school acknowledged not officially by its National Agency.
